Dementia and Imagination in Denbighshire

  • There have been 4 projects in Denbighshire managed by Denbighshire County Council Arts Service, each project lasting 12 weeks.
  • They have taken place at Rhyl Library, Ruthin Craft Centre and Llangollen Pavilion.
  • Over 40 people living with dementia have participated in Denbighshire, taking part in weekly art workshops led by Sian Hughes.

Research artist

An artist has worked alongside the project in Denbighshire. Over the past year, Carol Hanson has attended a number of the workshops in order to try and capture some of the conversations that take place. Taking inspiration from the people she has met and the things that she has heard and learned along the way, Carol has set about creating a new body of work, which can be seen in and around the Dementia and Imagination stall at Llangollen Eisteddfod. Look out for Doris and Ivor’s car opposite the Dementia and Imagination stall!

DROP IN WORKSHOPS

There are workshops running at the stall every day this week, led by the artists who have been running the Dementia and Imagination workshops in Denbighshire. Drop in and take part!

We hope to see you there!
