CREATIVE LEARNING THROUGH THE ARTS – BRIEFING SESSIOS FOR HEADTEACHERS AND SCHOOLS
For headteachers and senior school staff, interested in exploring the opportunities for their school to be involved. 18 May – 8 Jun 2015
Creative Learning through the Arts : an action plan for Wales offers an inspiring range of new opportunities for schools across Wales. The action plan, jointly funded by the Welsh Government and Arts Council of Wales, aims to bring about a sea change in our how young people in Wales engage with learning.
In March 2014, the Welsh Government issued a response to Professor Dai Smith’s report on the review of Arts in Education in the Schools of Wales (2013), agreeing to all twelve of the report’s recommendations. Creative Learning through the Arts responds to these recommendations. It sets out an action plan and a range of new opportunities that will bring creative practitioners, classroom staff and learners together to enliven and enrich the school experience and help drive up attainment levels.
Creative Learning through the Arts will be jointly funded by £10m lottery money from Arts Council of Wales and £10m from Welsh Government over five years.
